Hello, I been feeling very depressed for the past two years and I’ve turned to cutting & burning myself to escape these tough feelings. But my main question is: How do I stop?

depressed girlI’m sorry to hear about your troubles.  The most important thing is to get help so you don’t have to try to deal with this alone.  It is important that you know that therapists and counselors can give you the help you need to feel less depressed and stop harming yourself. You can ask your parent, health care provider or school counselor to help you find the right therapist for you. You may also be helped by antidepressant medication. If you find that you have thoughts of wanting to end your life, please tell a trusted adult immediately, go to a hospital emergency  room or call a suicide hotline (such as Samaritans, 1-877-870-HOPE (1-877-870-4673) or use their online chat). I hope you get the help you need and feel better soon.
