Is it possible for a penis to be too large to enter a vagina?

condoms and measuring tapeWhen a woman feels aroused or interested in having sex, her vagina makes a natural lubricant that helps glide a male’s penis into the vagina. It also helps if the woman is relaxed and in the mood for sex. The vagina will usually stretch to accommodate her partner’s penis. If there isn’t enough lubrication, intercourse can feel tight and uncomfortable.

If sex is uncomfortable because of the size of your partner’s penis, try using an over-the-counter lubricant with condoms. If intercourse continues to be challenging, make an appointment with your health care provider to make sure that you don’t have any gynecological conditions that could be causing the problem.

Remember – Having sex and with whom should be YOUR decision. You should NEVER feel pressured or rushed into having sex.
