I find quite often I feel a strong urge to drink something fizzy, almost like i’m craving it, but I only drink sugar free drinks so surely it isnt the sugar i’m addicted to? I dont know why I always have an intense craving for fizz/bubbly drinks.

There can be lots of reasons we enjoy carbonated fizzy drinks!
Fizzy drinks have a unique taste and feel in our mouth that can be fun to experience. They are also often kept cold, and the combination of cold and fizzy feeling can make us feel more refreshed.
Many carbonated beverages are sweetened with sweeteners other than sugar, like aspartame and stevia, which are even sweeter tasting than regular cane sugar. Our brains still like the taste of the sweetness, which can lead us to reach for these drinks.
Some carbonated beverages also have caffeine in them, and we can start to become dependent on that caffeine which can lead to cravings.
It can be helpful to try unflavored carbonated beverages, like carbonated water, to see if that is satisfying those cravings, and to make sure you are getting enough water to drink in general.
