The hormonal implant is a safe and long term birth control option for healthy teens and adult women, however different states and different health clinics have various policies on whether a parent’s consent is necessary for girls who are under 18 years of age. Talk to your health care provider or a family planning clinic to find out if long-acting birth control is a good option for you and whether or not you can give your own consent.
