Most antibiotics are completely safe to take if you have a hormonal implant, and do not interfere with preventing pregnancy. The only exception is an antibiotic used to treat tuberculosis (TB). Make sure that you let your health care providers know about all of the medications, implants, over-the-counter medicines and supplements that you take. Always use condoms to prevent sexually transmitted infections.

We also incorporate research and best practices from authoritative sources such as the CDC, NIH, PubMed, top medical journals, and UpToDate.com.
