I just started my period but it lasted for an entire week. Is this normal?

calendarPeriods in general usually last about 3-7 days but the amount of blood flow is usually different each day. For example, it is typically heavier during the first couple of days and it is much lighter at the end. During the first year of having your period, your cycles may be irregular and you may have a heavier flow one month and a lighter flow the next. It’s a good idea to keep track of your periods; how often they come and how long they last so you can share the information with your health care provider at your check-ups.
