The Center for Young Women’s Health offers monthly online chats for teens with Endometriosis, PCOS, MRKH and parents of teens with MRKH. The chats are safe places for teens (and parents of teens with MRKH) who share a common condition to ask questions, discuss concerns, and offer each other support. Our PCOS and Endometriosis chats are open to teens ages 13-22. Our MRKH chats are open to teens ages 14-22. The health professionals who moderate the chats will not be able to give you specific medical advice, but will be able to provide you with general information and resources.
About chat moderators: Moderators who give health information are professionals at Boston Children’s Hospital and are identified during chats with a professional title, i.e. Nurse, Dr., Dietitian, or Nutritionist. Please note that any chat participant who is not identified in this way should not be considered as a medical professional. All chat participants must endeavor to disseminate only information that is true and accurate and provide valid sources for any medical or health information. Advertising is prohibited on all of our chats.
If you’re interested in attending a teen or parent chat, please fill out the form below as completely as possible. Items marked with an asterisk (*) are required. If you are a parent/guardian and are signing up to join the MRKH Parent chat list, please enter your child’s date of birth and symptoms.
On the form we ask you for some personal medical information. We take your privacy very seriously, and will only use this information to find out if you are eligible for the chats. We keep your information strictly confidential, and do not use it in any other way, or share it with any other group or person. Learn more about our Privacy Policy. Eligible chat participants must first read and accept our chat rules. These rules are meant to create a safe, supportive environment for our chat participants:
- Please do not share any personal information in the chat, such as your full name or address. When you login, use your first name or a nickname only.
- Do not use inappropriate language, and be considerate of all chatters.
- The chats are not meant to be a personal medical consultation. We are able to offer general advice, but if you have specific or urgent questions about your health, you should talk to your health care provider.
- This chat is only open to young women who have been diagnosed with Endometriosis, PCOS, or MRKH by their health care provider. If you have questions about whether or not this chat is right for you, please email us at [email protected]
Once you’re signed up, you’ll receive an e-mail reminder and login information the day before the chat, and again the day of the chat.
