Statement on Social Justice

The Center for Young Women’s Health and the Young Men’s Health Initiative at Boston Children’s Hospital have always been committed to providing carefully researched health information, educational programs, and conferences for all teens and young adults. Our goal is to provide a safe environment for a community with diverse racial, ethnic, religious, and gender identities as well as sexual orientations and practices.

We are joining together with others at Boston Children’s as well as the Society for Adolescent Health and Medicine, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and other professional health organizations to speak out against racism and social injustice. We will continue our commitment to young people around the world by pledging to utilize our voice to spread awareness and fuel change. Here at the Center for Young Women’s Health and the Young Men’s Health Initiative, we believe in equity, justice, and inclusion. We are currently in the midst of developing a health guide on racism and discrimination, which will help young people educate themselves and others on the impact that racism and discrimination have not only socially, but on physical and mental health as well. We welcome feedback on how we can work together for a more just and healthier world.
