I have heard from a few people that the herbal supplement mugwort interferes with birth control or makes it less effective. I tried looking it up, but I couldn’t find anything. Is this true?

Mugwort grows in the form of a weed and is considered to be an herbal supplement. Some people may use mugwort for cooking, but it has also been recommended as  a treatment for low energy, among other complaints.. Recently, there have been claims that mugwort helps reduce cramping and menstrual symptoms, and may help women become pregnant. Unfortunately, there isn’t a lot of science to back up these claims. If you’re thinking of starting a new medication, vitamin, or supplement, it’s super important to talk to your doctor first! The world of vitamins, supplements, and medications is a big one! You never know what could interact with each other or what you might be allergic to. The best thing to do is have a conversation with your health care provider (HCP) and learn more about what you might be taking.
