Hello! So, I’m 15 and I have been thinking about getting the bar (Hormonal implant). I don’t know if I’m too young or if it’s unreasonable for me to get it. Should I get the bar?

hormonal implantThe hormonal implant is a safe and long term birth control option for healthy teens and adult women, however different states and different health clinics have various policies on whether a parent’s consent is necessary for girls who are under 18 years of age. Talk to your health care provider or a family planning clinic to find out if long-acting birth control is a good option for you and whether or not you can give your own consent. Remember, the hormonal implant alone does not protect you from sexually transmitted infections. To prevent STIs, use condoms every time you have sex.
