Lately I’m forever sad, I cry a lot and I don’t talk to anyone. I need help as this is affecting my health too.

Feeling sad and alone can definitely take a toll on your health, particularly the longer you feel this way. Everyone feels sad from time to time but if your sadness lasts two weeks or longer, you could have depression. It is great that you recognize that you need help. Try reaching out to a family member or other adult you trust. You may feel more comfortable talking to someone who doesn’t already know you and can remain objective, such as a therapist or counselor. This can be very helpful in learning ways to feel better. There are also medications that can be very helpful for some people. If you ever think about ending your life, please go to an emergency room right away or call a suicide prevention hotline such as 1-800-273-TALK (8255). Getting proper treatment can help you get back on track and enjoy life again.
