The physical home of the Center for Young Women’s Health is the Resource Center, located on the 5th floor of 333 Longwood Ave, Boston, MA, next door to the Adolescent and Gynecology Clinics.
Although housed in a small space, it is a welcoming room that is packed with useful health information. We have a library of books that patients can check out for two weeks at a time, a video library that teens can use during their visits to the clinic, and binders full of printed brochures on every health topic imaginable. We also have computers available to teen girls searching for health information, working on projects for school, or just stopping by to check email.
The Resource Center is a welcoming refuge for teen girls and their families who need help finding information, or as a quiet place to check out health information while waiting for their appointments. The CYWH’s three peer leaders also use the space for research, training, and to prepare the health presentations they give to teen girls in the Boston community, as part of the Youth Advisory Program. The Resource Center is also the professional home of the CYWH’s health information developers and librarians.
